Welcome to Collaborative Divorce & Mediation Services. We provide a wide range of Collaborative Divorce and Mediation Services, which include Divorce, Pre Nuptial Agreements, Post Nuptial Agreements, Domestic Partnerships, Business Disputes, Landlord-Tenant Disputes, Neighborhood Disputes and General Civil Disputes.
We are dedicated to resolving all types of conflict through no court resolutions. For over 40 years we have been helping families who are restructuring before, durign and after the divorcve process find peaceful solutions for themselves and for their families. We have seen the destruction and unmet needs caused by the family law judicial system. We have learned that finding peaceful solutions is so much more empowering for families who are restructuring.
No Court Divorce Process Choices include:
MEDIATION: In traditional mediation, the divorcing clients are working with one mediator who may or may not be an attorney. Sometimes the clients use consulting attorneys before, during or after the mediation process. Divorce mediation is a private out of court settlement process. The positive is that for some families this works well and can be highly cost effective. The negative is that it can be challenging for one mediator to meet the emotional, financial and legal needs of the family single handedly.
FULL TEAM COLLABORATIVE PRACTICE: We have utilized the full team model since 2002, and we have been trained as trainers in this model. We endorse this model completely, and we are somewhat biased towards this model. This model includes 2 collaborative attorneys, 2 divorce coaches, 1 neutral financial and 1 child specialist. The positive is that the full team is very well equipped to assist almost every family and this model has a clear set of guidelines and protocols. The negative (if there is one) is that not every family can afford a full team, and not every family needs a full team to help them with their unique circumstances. Thus, collaborative divorce mediation was born.
WHAT IS COLLABORATIVE DIVORCE MEDIATION?
COLLABORATIVE DIVORCE MEDIATION: This is a collaborative co-mediation model built around two or three skilled and highly trained collaborative professionals. The Co-Mediation team is designed to meet the legal, financial and emotional hopes and concerns of the family who is restructuring. Divorce Co-Mediation is a private out of court settlement process. Your Co- Mediation Team can consist of an attorney-mediatror, neutral financial and child speacialist or divorce coach, and each team is designed to support the specific and unique needs of each family that is restructuring.
By removing two collaborative lawyers from the team, the process can be much more streamlined and cost effective. Can you have an attorney to consult with? Of course! Do you need to have one? That is your decision to make. It has been our experience that in collaborative divorce mediation, many individuals do not feel that they need to have their own consulting attorney present during the mediation process. Some like to have consulting attorneys look at their settlement agreement before they sign it. Some do not. This is not a one size fits all process that is laden with protocols and preconceived schedules. This is about meeting the needs of the your unique family and helping you achieve success as you define it for yourselves.
As a Collaborative attorney and mediator, I have refined this process, and I have found that it is streamlined, cost effective, and empowering to the family because it is all about choice. I understand how important this work is and I am completely dedicated to helping you evaluate your chlices to achieve peaceful solutions.
